Gateshead Millennium Bridge
The Gateshead Millennium Bridge

This summer there is a series of 100 daily tilts to showcase the engineering marvel of the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. Still the world's first and only tilting bridge!

Every day at approximately 12 noon local people, tourists and passers-by will get the opportunity to see the famous Gateshead Millennium Bridge perform a tilt.

The bridge was designed to tilt so that passing ships could move up the Tyne, but because it is such a spectacular sight we've now arranged for it to happen at a regular time each day, letting more people see it in action.
