Art Diamonds

Gateshead Art Diamonds is for retired people who like to be creative. We offer a diverse programme of artist-led workshops including printmaking, painting, drawing, creative writing, sculpture, wellbeing walks, ceramics, collage, sculpture, textiles and much more. You might be an absolute beginner or want to develop a creative skill you already have. It's all about having a go!

The sessions are friendly, welcoming and a great way to meet new people. We also arrange trips to exhibitions and cultural events. Members receive monthly bulletins with upcoming workshops and events so you can keep up-to-date with what's on. For anyone who might not be able to get out and about easily, we can deliver Art Diamonds 'Art at Home' packs.

Become an Arts Diamond member

To become an Arts Diamonds member, complete our online application form. We accept applications from retired people in Gateshead and the surrounding area.

As the standard of cultural activities is high, we charge an annual membership fee. The fee is 'pay as you feel' for those who have used the programme before. For new members we suggest a starting fee of £10. If you are experiencing financial difficulty and are unable to pay a fee now, you can still sign up for membership. The membership year runs April - March, a renewal and contribution notification will be sent out in the month of March.

After signing up you will receive a confirmation email which includes your reference number. If you do not receive this, please check your junk or spam email.

The arts team will process your application and will send you a welcome letter which will include your membership number and further information about our future Art Diamonds sessions and how to book and attend.
