Central Library 100 Years Celebration Event
Join us to celebrate 100 years of Gateshead Central Library! We have a full programme of events and activities lined up for our special day.
The library will be open from 9am to 4pm, with activities starting at 10am. We have free, drop in children's activities in the lending library or you could drop in to the MakerPlace to make your own centenary themed coaster, bookmark or badge.
Gateshead Community Choir from Side by Side Arts will be performing a short concert in the main lending library at 11.30am. If you want to learn more about the building itself, we have tours in the morning and in the afternoon with staff from our Gateshead Archive.
We've also got a big treat for our big day - best selling author, Peter James, best known for his DS Roy Grace series is coming to Gateshead Central Library for a special author talk. Peter will be in conversation with Richie Campbell who plays DI Glenn Branson in the ITV series. It's a conversation not to be missed.
