New members wanted for SEND youth forum

Are you passionate about making a difference for young people with SEND in Gateshead? The Gateshead SEND Youth Forum is looking for new members - and we'd love for you to get involved!

Established in December 2020, the Forum exists to amplify the voices and lived experiences of children and young people with SEND. It's open to anyone aged 14 to 25 with additional needs, as well as those who are committed to improving SEND services - including siblings and allies.

The Forum meets monthly to:

• share experiences of living with SEND in Gateshead
• discuss ideas for change and improvement
• provide feedback to local services

Recently, members collaborated with the North East and North Cumbria NHS to redesign their 'Transition from Children's to Adult Healthcare' website. As part of this project, they co-produced an animated video to help explain the transition process.
