Better off calculations

Programme overview
This practical session helps adult learners develop the numeracy and digital skills needed to use online Better Off Calculators—tools that estimate whether someone would be financially better off in work or by increasing their hours.
What learners will gain:
- Maths skills: learners will explore:
- income vs. expenses
- understanding tax, benefits, and deductions
- comparing financial scenarios
- Digital confidence: hands-on experience using online Better Off tools to:
- input personal data securely
- interpret results and explore options
- navigate related resources and support
- Informed decision-making: learners will leave with a clearer understanding of how work impacts their financial situation and where to find further guidance
Who this course is for
The course is for those 19 years +, unemployed and are a Gateshead resident.

Tutor assessment.
