Programme overview

Celebrate the festive season while building confidence in everyday maths! In this hands-on session, learners will create delicious Christmas treats such as fudge and truffles, using simple recipes that incorporate practical numeracy skills.

What learners will gain:

• Basic maths skills: learners will apply maths in real-life contexts, including:
  • measuring ingredients accurately
  • scaling recipes up or down
  • estimating costs and budgeting for batches
  • practical confidence: reinforce numeracy through engaging, sensory activities that feel rewarding and achievable
• Festive fun: participants will take home their handmade treats along with beautifully designed recipe cards to recreate the magic at home

Who this course is for

The course is for those 19 years +, unemployed and are a Gateshead resident.

Materials and equipment

All equipment is provided.

Tutor assessment.
