Metrocentre and Riverside

Working with the Metrocentre, our ambition for Metro Riverside is bold. 

Metro Riverside is one of Gateshead's most forward-thinking regeneration projects, set to transform 500 acres along the Tyne into a new thriving, sustainable community for our town.  

With easy access to Newcastle and the wider region, Metro Riverside will create jobs, homes and connected neighbourhoods supported by excellent transport links, waterside living and vibrant leisure opportunities.  

Centred around a re-imagined Metrocentre, the scheme will deliver over 3,500 new homes, 25,000m² of retail and leisure space, and extensive green networks of parks, walkways, and cycle routes. Work is now underway to plan it all out and identify all of the infrastructure that will be needed to transform the area.
