Personal Care Assistant jobs (direct payments)
Become a Personal Assistant and change someone's life.
Any Gateshead resident who is eligible for a direct payment personal care budget can choose to employ their own Personal Assistant to help with their day-to-day care. For some, this gives them control of how they spend their care budget in a way that supports their independence.
Personal Assistants play a valuable role. All Personal Assistants are employed directly by the individual and therefore the roles can be very varied depending on their individual need. Personal Assistants roles can include tasks such as:
- general care and support
- support with social support and activities
- domestic support
- helping with personal care
- meal preparation
These are paid employment roles. They could be part time or full time and may require flexible hours as each role is tailored to the individual. The pay per hour is above minimum wage. If training is required, as part of the role, then this can be arranged.
