Scam alert

Some of our neighbouring authorities have let us know about a scam that is happening in their areas.

We have concerns that it could also happen within Gateshead.

Scammers have been sticking QR codes near or on signage in car parks. This includes the 'paybyphone' signage. The QR code takes you to an online scam payment page. None of our pay parking locations/signage have a QR code on them. If you see one please do not scan it.

We will be monitoring all our pay locations and if a QR appears we will be removing it as soon as possible.
