Job description
Gateshead Council is investing in digital services and solutions that will transform how it works and delivers services. We are now looking for a talented individual to join our existing digital team in developing and implementing digital services that are easy to use, secure and effective. You will work on a range of exciting digital projects that will transform online service delivery for our residents and customers via the council website, and improve our internal business processes and working practices, including agile and mobile working.
We are looking for a highly skilled Digital Services Developer working across a diverse range of projects who can deliver highly usable online products that meet our customer needs.
You will be able to simplify complex language and processes, using content and usability guidelines. You will be able to apply a variety of user testing methodologies and interpret web analytics and user feedback to improve customer journeys on a range of devices.
You should have highly refined digital skills including writing content for the web, web user centred design practices, HTML, website accessibility standards, information architecture and the use of Google Analytics.
You should possess a relevant degree/professional qualification or have evidence of significant relevant experience.
You should have at least 3 years' experience of delivering content for websites that is accessible and usable, working with a content management system.
