Who are we and what do we do  

The Community Health and Wellbeing Service at Gateshead Council are managing a grants programme related to the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) funding made available to Local Authorities from UK Government - Dept. For Work and Pensions. In order to do so we will need to request and process personal and organisational data provided by grant applicants. 

This privacy notice provides specific information about how we process your personal data. It is an addition to the information contained in our Corporate Privacy Notice.

What type of information is collected about you 

We collect personal information to be able to contact you in relation to your grant application. This information may include: 

  • name
  • address 
  • email address 
  • phone number 
  • place of work or organisation you represent  

How we collect information about you  

We collect information about you from various sources to ensure that we meet your needs, including: 

  • online grant application form (via Microsoft Forms)
  • registrations to attend CRF-related events. 

Why we need your information 

Our purpose for collecting personal information is to enable us to:

  • keep you informed about the CRF grant funding programme, to share information, key documents and resources
  • organise and invite you to events
  • contact you about your grant application; request further information and to inform you of the outcome of your application
  • share additional resources and opportunities; facilitate networking and partnerships between other individuals and organisations 

The lawful basis for our processing is: 

  • Consent. The individual has given clear consent for us to process their personal data for a specific purpose. The individual must be able to withdraw consent at any time.  

Who your information can be shared with 

Our Corporate Privacy Notice explains information sharing the council carries out. This sharing fulfils statutory obligations, legal requirements and service delivery. The Community Health and Wellbeing team may be required to share your information with other services with gateshead council related to the management and processing of your grant application including Finance, Legal, Corporate Resources and Audit teams. 

If we wish to share your information with other council services or third parties for purposes outside of those listed above we will ask your permission.

How long we will keep your information  

We keep your information for as long as we need to provide services to you. We may also need to keep your information in accordance with legal or other obligations. Where we have no need to keep your data it will be securely destroyed. We keep a Record of Processing Activity (a requirement under the GDPR).
