Gateshead Regeneration Partnership sites

Housing

The Gateshead Regeneration Partnership is a catalyst for sustainable development, community investment, and long-term transformation across the borough.

Gateshead Council's joint venture with Vistry and Home Group is continuing to deliver high-quality, affordable family homes across the borough. Construction is currently underway on sites in Birtley, Saltwell, High Spen, and the town centre, bringing a total of 430 new homes to life.

Looking ahead to 2026, the next phase of development will see work begin on four more sites—Brandling in Felling, Elisabethville in Birtley, Dixon Street in Teams, and the former council housing site in Beacon Lough. Together, these provide another 400 family homes for the borough.

This work is part of the wider Gateshead Regeneration Partnership, which is focused not only on building new homes but also on creating affordable housing options and providing skills and training opportunities for local residents.
