Rachel Allan - Deputy Head Teacher

I have had the honour of working in education in Gateshead for the last 25 years. Initially as a mainstream secondary science teacher and moving to a leadership role promoting inclusion for all in particular those with SEND, EAL and CiOC. I joined virtual school in 2022 and promptly studied a postgraduate course in Trauma, Attachment and Mental Health. I am a passionate advocate for vulnerable young people and am thrilled to be supporting our education partners to understand developmental trauma and implement relational practices as a whole school culture, to enable young people of Gateshead to thrive in Education and beyond.

Judith Sewell - Post 16 Case Work Lead

I have worked in Education for the last 21 years, where I worked as a career advisor before joining the Virtual School. Alongside my work, I returned to university to do a Post Grad course in Trauma informed Education and Teaching, and I feel passionate about supporting education partners to understand the impact Trauma can have on our young people.
