LGBT+ groups exist to ensure young people and their families are supported, empowered and provided with the information you need.

There are many local and national groups which can offer advice and information on a range of issues facing LGBT+ young people.

Allsorts Youth Project (opens new window) - Allsorts Youth Project listens to, connects & supports children & young people under 26 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or exploring their sexual orientation and/or gender identity (LGBT+) and their families.

Akt (opens new window) - Akt supports LGBTQ+ young people aged 16-25 who are facing homelessness.

Children North East (opens new window) - Children North East offer support and run youth groups for young people living in Gateshead.

Hart Gables (opens new window) - Hart Gables supports LGBTQ+ communities in Teesside and East Durham.

Mermaids (opens new window) - Mermaids supports trans, non-binary and gender-diverse children, young people and their families.
