Apply for planning permission
Apply for householder planning permission on our new service. It's an alternative to the planning portal, with no additional charge currently. It is easier and quicker and you will be guided throughout the process.
This service is for those who want to apply for permission to a house only.

The service sends your application, documents and fees direct to us. This is a new service, designed by planners and software developers to enhance our service to applicants.
Before you apply
Before you apply for planning permission we suggest that you read planning applications - advice for householders.
Most applications do require a fee. Please use the fee calculator to work out how much you will need to pay. If you pay via our new service, you will be guided though our payment system.
Before you submit a formal planning application, ensure you read the following documents so that your application complies with local planning requirements:
Tyneside Validation Checklist (PDF, 1 MB)

Monitoring
We do monitor sites to check compliance. If you start work on site or carry on with works without first discharging relevant conditions, we may not be able to formally discharge them - this may result in development delays or other difficulties.
