Kickstart scheme expression of interest

The Government's Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment.

Employers of all sizes can apply for funding which covers:

  • 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months

  • associated employer National Insurance contributions

  • employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions

A Kickstart Scheme application must be for a minimum of 30 job placements. If a single employer cannot provide this many job placements, a Kickstart Gateway can apply for funding on their behalf.

We intend to act as a Kickstart Gateway and invite expressions of interest from employers who would like to apply to the scheme, but have fewer than 30 job placements.

Eligibility criteria for employers and further information can be found on the Kickstart Scheme page.

If you meet the eligibility criteria and are interested in applying for less that 30 placements, complete our expression of interest form to tell us about the job placements you'd like to create.

Please be aware that this is an expression of interest only and is not an application for funding.
