She has asked that the council respond to her by 1 July 2026.

Following the submission by Gateshead Council of the Gateshead MetroGreen Area Action Plan to the Secretary of State for independent examination on 15 May 2026, an inspector has now been appointed.
Inspector Alison Partington BA (Hons) MA MRTPI from the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) has been appointed to hold an independent examination of the Gateshead MetroGreen Area Action Plan and decide whether the plan meets the soundness and legal compliance tests.
