Economic Development and Regeneration: Pride in Place Programme Privacy Notice

Who are we and what do we do

Economic Development and Regeneration is part of Gateshead Council. We are based at Gateshead Civic Centre and provide the following services: Economic Policy and Delivery, External Funding, Major Regeneration, and Strategic Culture and Events.

This privacy notice provides specific information about how the Pride in Place Programme processes your personal data and is an addition to the information contained in our Corporate.

The Pride in Place Programme is a community-led programme that helps local areas tackle infrastructure, social, and civic challenges.

As part of a £5 billion nationwide initiative, the government has allocated up to £20 million over 10 years to Beacon Lough and Wrekenton.

The council is the Accountable Body for this funding and is responsible (with the MPs office) for recruiting a chair of the Neighbourhood Board. The Board will bring local people, businesses, and community groups together to shape the future of their area.  In addition, the council (with the MPs office) will provide support with the recruitment process for Board members.

The council will also provide project support during the initial stages of the programme and support the Board in engaging with their communities and in developing a vision and 10-year Regeneration Plan.
