We have some exciting updates to share with you in our latest issue of Council News including:

  • our regeneration plans for sites across Gateshead
  • how inviting everyone to love where they live, alongside our additional investment in environmental services is having a positive impact on our local communities

We have an update on the outcome of our Residents Survey, which took place earlier this year, the ongoing in housing services and on the financial challenges we face in relation to our budget, including how Council Tax supports our services.

As we prepare for colder weather, you can read about how our teams are getting ready to keep roads open and we have warm spaces available for everyone.

Lots of work has taken place since our last issue and other features include our Brighten the Day Holiday, Activities and Food programme for young people aged 5-16, how our business centres can help your business grow and Remembrance Day 2025. You can also read more about how to get involved with Gateshead Central Library's centenary and how to enjoy Gateshead whatever the weather.

Don't forget local elections take place in May 2026 and you must be registered to vote to take part. You can find out everything you need to know in this issue along with contact details for your local councillor.
