The following information outlines the provision for children with SEND at our Brighten the Day holiday clubs. This is meant as guidance only and parents and carers of children with SEND should contact the club before making a booking to ensure that club is suitable and has capacity for their child/children.

Active Families at the Salvation Army Gateshead
On any particular day a maximum of 40 children will attend this club. The staffing ratio of this club is 15 children to 3 staff. The PA for a child with SEND can attend this club.
The club venue is wheelchair accessible and is accessible for a child with a physical disability. The club venue does not have an accessible toilet but does have a Changing Place.

Dance Fusion Extreme at Springwell Community Hub
Springwell community hub also welcomes young people with additional needs. Personal assistants can also attend the club with the young person. Our club has fully trained staff who work in SEND schools and mainstream school.

Stomping Grounds Forest School

The club venue is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible as the woodland entrance can get muddy and so is not accessible for a child with a physical disability. The club venue meeting point at the Tyne View Health Hub has an accessible toilet and but not a Changing Place toilet.
We work on a 1-6 ratio which allows us to accept mild to moderate SEND children at this club.
