The Public Services (Social Value) Act (opens new window) came into force on 31 January 2012. It requires people who commission public services to think about how they can also secure wider social, economic, and environmental benefits for their people and communities.
At Gateshead Council we are committed to delivering social value. We want to encourage organisations to offer services and/or support across the borough, connecting suppliers with schools, colleges, community groups and VCSEs.
