Expression of interest

Interested parties are required to complete the Expression of Interest Form and return this by no later than 12 noon on Tuesday 29 November 2022.

All forms should be sent to following address: Gateshead Council, Civic Centre, Regent Street, Gateshead, NE8 1HH and marked for the attention of the Chief Executive, Gateshead Council, Civic Centre, Regent Street, Gateshead, NE8 1HH REF: EM10/04/107/001

Expressions of Interest should be submitted in a sealed envelope using the address label which can be obtained upon request.

Disposal Process

1. At this stage the Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) to include information regarding:

Ordnance Survey - to confirm the ventures proposed demised area edged red.

Proposed Business Plan to include - proven experience of the proposed venture as well as its full set up, a sustainable business plan, its ability to deliver the proposed venture and how the demised area will be proactively estate managed, maintained and kept in a continuing safe state of repair.

Proof of Funding - for the proposed venture and to include where possible scheme proposals as well as availability to funding or proof of funds to deliver.

Proposed Travel Plan - please provide guidance as to what measures you would propose to put in place to reduce the need to travel to and from the site by car to include:

  • How you would encouraging staff and visitors to access the site by supporting walking, cycling and public transport
  • To ensure adequate measures are in place for those with mobility difficulties
  • To promote a healthy lifestyle and create a sustainable vibrant organisation which encourages sustainable transport

Proposed Timescales - for delivery of proposed venture.

Expected Lease Term - an indication on what term of lease the venture requires and why.

Further Information - please provide any further information which you think is of relevance.

2. Upon receipt of EOI forms the Council will consider which proposals best fit the future use aspirations.

3. The successful parties will then be invited to discuss their proposals prior to submitting a formal offer to lease the site
