Why your information is required and how it is used

When you apply for a Personal Assistant post, Gateshead Council Direct Payment Support Service will facilitate the recruitment process on behalf of prospective employers.

Your application will be submitted to the Direct Payment Support Service, before it is passed to the prospective employer. The team may use this information so you can be contacted about future Personal Assistant posts (should you consent to this).

 

What type of information is collected in respect of you

On applying for a job, the application form will ask for details that a prospective employer requires, depending on the job advertised. This could include: name, address, date of birth, national insurance number, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, religion, disability, professional registration, qualifications, employment history, skills and experience and any other information required for the job post.

If you progress to the latter stages of the selection process a prospective employer will also require additional information as part of your employment record with them.

The information that will be used by the Direct Payment team will be limited to name, address, email, phone number and position applied for or future positions interested in.

 

Who your information may be shared with (internally and externally)

The information that you provide will be shared and used for recruitment purposes with the prospective employer only.

 

How long is your information kept?

The Direct Payment team will retain your information until the end of the recruitment process.

If you agree to us holding your details in respect of any future employment opportunities, from other prospective employers, we will hold your data for 1 year.

If your application is successful and you are appointed to a role, your application data will be used to create your employee record at the request of your employer. The ongoing use of this data is covered in the Employee Privacy Notice which will be provided by your new employer.

 

How you can access, update, or correct your information

If you have agreed to us holding your details in respect of any future employment opportunities, from other prospective employers, and any of your details have changed or you no longer wish for your details to be held. Please contact us at:
