We are consulting on proposals to close a £29million budget gap for next year. While we now receive £900 less to spend per household that we did in 2010, we will be spending around £200million on providing services during 2019/20.
Our approach, making Gateshead a place where everyone thrives, has informed the development of our budget proposals. These include looking at new ways to bring money into the council, how we can better manage the increasing demand for our services while still providing support to the most vulnerable, and continuing to change the way we work to minimise costs wherever possible.
