Outcome of the recent re-procurement of all age carers services in Gateshead
Gateshead Council and Newcastle Gateshead Clinical Commissioning Group would like to take the opportunity to inform our communities, carers, Providers and professionals across Health and Social Care on the outcome of the review and re-procurement of Carers services in Gateshead.
With affect from 1 May 2019, Carers Trust Tyne and Wear will be responsible for delivering services and support to Young Carers aged up to 18 years. They will also offer carers some time away from their caring role by providing personal and emotional support to any adults aged 18 years and over who they care for. Gateshead Carers Association will be responsible for delivering services and support to Adult Carers aged 18 years and over.
Carers Trust Tyne and Wear and Gateshead Carers Association are both well-established Carers organisations in Gateshead, and we are confident that carers will continue to receive excellent services.
The successful organisations will be contacting their service users in the coming weeks to explain any changes that may affect them and ensure a smooth transition to the new service so that no carers will be left without support during the transition.
