Short stay support and residencies
Residential care is not the only option available to people struggling to live in their own homes. Promoting Independence Centres can help to increase skills and raise confidence levels, meaning many people can continue living independently. There are two Promoting Independence Centres in Gateshead which provide different types of care over varying time frames.
Eastwood is a short stay 'Centre of Excellence' in Felling.
Southernwood provides intermediate care, planned or emergency assessment, respite and flexible day service provision.
