Great North Run

The Great North Run 2024 (opens new window) will take place on Sunday 8 September 2024. The route will see the race starting in Newcastle before passing through Gateshead with the finish line back at South Shields. Thousands of spectators and supporters will visit Gateshead to cheer on runners. 

Please be aware, that due to the ongoing restoration of the Tyne Bridge, access for spectators will be very restricted this year, so if you normally stand on the bridge to cheer on friends and family, please think about an alternative place to stand.
