Are you a victim?

Practical and emotional support to high risk victims of domestic abuse in Gateshead is available from the Safer Families, Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) service. We can help you understand your options on issues including housing, safety and legal and put you in touch with other organisations that can help meet your needs, including refuge accommodation.

We will not pressure you to take action but guide you through the process, enabling you to make an informed choice. You may first want to talk things through with someone who is unbiased and who will not make judgments. Should you want to pursue a prosecution, we can support you to report the incident as well as explain the court process. Whatever your needs are, you are welcome to use our free and confidential service.
