Free outdoor WiFi

Gateshead council, Newcastle council and BT have worked together to provide outdoor WiFi.
This is in key routes in Gateshead town centre, Newcastle city centre and the Quayside.
Providing free access to WiFi means you can:
- look up information
- book tickets
- check emails
- search for jobs
As well as much more, all while you are out and about.
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport fund the Go Digital project. This is part of the Government's UK-wide Super Connected Cities programme.
Getting connected
Connection to the free WiFi is easy.
- Connect your smartphone, tablet or laptop to GoDigital_Wifi
You don't need to enter any personal details and it will automatically connect next time you visit Gateshead or Newcastle.
- Accept the terms and conditions of the service
It will only ask you to do this once, provided you are using the same device.
- Start browsing!
There are no restrictions on the length of time you can browse the internet and with BT delivering the service you can be sure it is safe and family friendly for all users. Any inappropriate content is blocked.
