Shared Lives Carers Training

Training delivery is continuing and following government guidance with regard to Covid 19. We have now been able to increase our course numbers but this is constantly monitored. We continue to ventilate training rooms, we have hand sanitiser and wipes available and we encourage social distancing.  Face masks are no longer compulsory to wear but we do encourage learners to wear them where close practical work is conducted and we are mindful that some learners do choose to wear a mask throughout training which is absolutely fine. There are masks available in all training rooms.

If you have any queries please email wdsupport@gateshead.gov.uk

The opportunity to receive regular, high quality training is very important in supporting carers who open up their home and family life, to include the person who needs care and support, some of whom may be exhibiting difficult and challenging behaviour. Workforce Development have a strong commitment to providing several training opportunities each year to maintain skills and knowledge to help you in this role.

Over the year the training programme will be developed, as priorities change, or demand increases. It is recommended that you regularly check this page for updates.
