Time to nominate for Gateshead Awards 2021

Gateshead Awards 2021

Over the last 12 months there have been many examples of people and organisations going the extra mile to help others and Gateshead Council are asking people to nominate their community heroes for a Gateshead Award.

The awards take place annually to recognise the contribution of people within the borough who go above and beyond to support their community and to celebrate all those who help others across the borough to thrive.

Gateshead Awards 2021 will continue to be sponsored by Gateshead Regeneration Partnership, Go North East, HYHubs, Metrocentre, Tarmac and Northgate Vehicle Hire.

The Mayor of Gateshead, Councillor Michael Hood, said "We're living in unprecedented times and the last 12 months have challenged us all in ways we could never have imagined. However despite these testing times we have all seen, heard and experienced people and organisations across Gateshead doing extraordinary things to support our local communities.

"We're all incredibly proud of the efforts of everyone to help others at this very difficult time. I'd like to ask everyone to think about those people who've made a huge difference to their lives, and that of their community, and then make a nomination for our Gateshead Awards."
