Gateshead Council has introduced an online resource for jobseekers and people in work, providing help and one-to one support and advice following the impact of Covid-19.

The hub includes access to employment services, skills development and Government guidance around what to do if your job has been affected by the recent pandemic.

Councillor Catherine Donovan, Deputy Leader of Gateshead Council, said: "These are difficult times and following the impact Covid-19 has had on people's working lives, it is understandable that residents might be worried about their future.

"We know that people need access to support and accurate information quickly, in order to deal with the immediate challenges, they are undoubtedly faced with. To make things easier we have brought together a collection of resources to help those who are working, recently furloughed or looking for a job, which includes access to our skilled job coaches who are on hand to give one-to-one guidance.

"We are here to help and know it is crucial that we continue to work alongside our partners both locally and regionally to support our residents and businesses when they need it most."
