Council to make 'every effort possible' to keep services operating

Council leader Martin Gannon has promised that Gateshead Council will make 'every effort possible' to keep essential Council services operating throughout the coronovirus outbreak.

He made the promise in a personal message published in a video on the Council's website this morning and on social media.

Councillor Gannon assured local people that "...we will make every single effort to make sure we get through this together."

"You can be absolutely assured that the council is here to support you," he said

He also explained how the Council had both detailed plans and resources in place to deal with the coronavirus crisis and that the Council "... will make every effort to keep our services fully operational."
