Bestselling author coming to Gateshead

International bestselling author David Baldacci is coming to Gateshead Central Library on Monday 23 September as part of a UK tour.

During the evening David will talk about his writing career and his latest novels, Redemption and One Good Deed, as well as amusing tales from being on the road. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

Councillor Angela Douglas, Cabinet Member for Culture, said "We're absolutely thrilled that David is visiting Gateshead Central Library. Not only is he one of the  bestselling thriller writers but his books are published throughout the world and his work has been adapted for both film and screen. It's fantastic that an author of his calibre has chosen Gateshead and I would encourage people to book their tickets so they don't miss out."

David Baldacci said "It will be great to be back in Gateshead. I'm really looking forward to introducing my crime noir novel One Good Deed to my readers there."

His first novel, Absolute Power, published in 1996 was made into a box office hit starring Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman. Since then he has released 49 books, selling 130 million copies worldwide.
