New equipment planned for popular play park

GV before new equipment installed

A popular play park in Dunston could soon be getting a much-needed refresh later this year.

Funding has been approved for the replacement of the play equipment at Dunston Park after recent inspections concluded that the current play facilities were nearing the end of their lifespan.

Multi-play equipment, climbing units and swings will all be replaced on a like-for-like basis and new safe surfacing will be installed where necessary.

The work is expected to take several days.

Gateshead Council decided to delay the replacement of the play equipment until after the school holidays when daytime demand for the park would be reduced. No start date has been agreed yet.
