Go ahead for school's sport facility plans

A Gateshead special school has been given permission to replace its sports facility.

Cedars Academy, a school for young people aged three to 19 with complex needs, has been granted planning permission to replace its old sports facility with a larger one.

The school, which is located on Ivy Lane in Low Fell, plans to build a single storey flat roofed extension and to extend the existing hall by five metres to store equipment.

Councillors on Gateshead's Planning and Development Committee voted unanimously to approve the project at their meeting last week.
