Bid on a home

housing__bid--active

A bid is a way of telling us that you would like to be considered for a property. You can only bid on a property if your application to Gateshead Home Choice has been successful.

You can make up to three bids each week on new homes, with bids open from Thursday at 00.01am until Monday at 11.59pm.

How to make a bid

To make a bid, register or log into My Housing Account, and go to Gateshead Home Choice. If you haven't already registered with Gateshead Home Choice, or if you are an existing Gateshead Home Choice customer and haven't already reset your password, you might find How to register helpful.

In Gateshead Home Choice, you can view properties and add any you're interested in to your basket. From your basket, you then confirm which properties you want to bid for.

Once you've made a bid, you can withdraw it and place an alternative bid if you want.

We advise that you only ever bid on properties that you have a genuine interest in, otherwise it can affect your priority for housing.
