Recycling bin trial

Changes to recycling collection

A small area of around 1,000 homes in Gateshead has been selected to trial a new recycling solution starting in February 2019. We will be monitoring recycling in this area over the following months and will feedback to residents later in the year.

If your area has been selected, you will receive information in the post to explain the trial in detail, and your new recycling routine. The collection day remains the same and your household waste bin collection will remain unchanged.

The trial isn't costing us money to run as the new bins have been paid for by our recycling contractor.

Clean paper and cardboard are recycling materials that can help us generate income providing funds for vital services to residents.
