Gateshead Fund is now open

Posted on Monday 5 June 2017

Funding is once again available to support the voluntary and community sector in Gateshead as round 1 of the 2017/18 Gateshead Fund is now open for applications.

The Gateshead Fund is open to voluntary, community and social enterprise sector organisations with an annual income of less that £250,000.

During 2017/18 the fund will support projects which:

  • Develop the capacity of voluntary, community and social enterprise sector organisations in Gateshead.
  • Support the provision of services by voluntary and community organisations in Gateshead.
  • Create stronger communities in Gateshead by building on the voluntary efforts of residents, local community assets and the work of councillors in their wards.

Priority will be given to groups based in Gateshead, except where there is a compelling case for funding applications from out of the area, and to projects which have a focus on innovation, developing best practice and champion collaboration.

Funding of up to £10,000 is available for projects of up to one year’s duration. Only one grant may be held at any time,  and groups will not be funded for more than three years in any six year period.

The closing date for applications is 30 June 2017 and applications will be approved by Cabinet on 12 September 2017.
