Below are a number of links to useful websites relating to safeguarding and child protection and links to useful documents in relation to safeguarding and child protection including the most recent statutory guidance. Click on the links (blue text) to access the documents and external websites.

Working Together to Safeguard Children (2010)| - A guide to inter-agency working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

Gateshead LSCB Inter-Agency Child Protection Procedures| - Local procedures for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

What to do if you're worried about a child| - Non-statutory guidance regarding dealing with concerns about a child.

Safeguarding Disabled Children (2009)| - Practice guidance issued by the Government to provide information and a framework within which agencies, LSCBs and professionals can draw up ways of working to safeguard disabled children. Safeguarding children who may have been trafficked (2007)| - Joint guidance issued by the DCSF and Home Office to improve the identification and safeguarding of child victims of trafficking.

Safeguarding Children from Abuse Linked to a Belief in Spirit Possession (2007)| - good practice guidance for agencies issued by the Government in 2007.

 The Department for Education Website| - (previously the Department for Children, Schools and Familes). Think is for the section on the site specific to safeguarding, but users can navigate to other areas.

The Every Child Matters Website| - Government information for professionals working with children and young people. This page will be merged with the Department for Education website eventually.

The Home Office Website| - The Home Office is the lead Government department for crime, police and other related issues (e.g. immigration, drugs policy and counter terrorism).

The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) Website| - CEOP delivers a police-led multi-agency service dedicated to the prevention of child exploitation. They have an holistic approach and work nationally and internationally with professionals, children and their families.
