Who are we?
The Children and Young People’s Service in West Gateshead is made up of Sure Start Children’s Centres, Connexions Gateshead, Youth and Community Learning, Youth Crime Prevention, Play Development Service and Health Inequalities Team.
These services are delivered from a range of community locations in Blaydon, Winlaton, Chopwell, Highfield, Ryton, Greenside and Crawcrook. The integrated team has strong working relationships with a number of key partners, including schools, SMART, Neighbourhood Management, Primary Care Trust and Northumbria Police.
What services do we provide?
Included in our 0-19 Core Offer are positive activities/Children’s Centre activities, education programmes e.g. D of E, youth crime prevention work, information, advice and career guidance, work experience, apprenticeships, volunteering, tailored family support (CAF/TAF/LP), integrated child care and education (0-5yrs), parenting programmes 0-19, health services including midwifery and the youth bus.
