East Area
Under and Over 11’s
The Children and Young People’s Service in East Gateshead is made up of Sure Start Children’s Centres, Youth and Community Learning, and Youth Crime Prevention. These services are delivered from a range of community locations in Felling, Leam Lane, Wardley and Pelaw and Heworth. The integrated team has strong working relationships with a number of key partners, including schools, SMART, The Gateshead Housing Company, NHS and Northumbria Police.
The Integrated team work closely with Heworth and Thomas Hepburn Schools and their extended clusters and all East Primary Schools.

Our aim is to improve outcomes for young children, reducing inequalities in outcomes between the most disadvantaged and the rest, helping to end child poverty.
