The removal of abandoned vehicles and requests from owners to remove their own scrap vehicles is co-ordinated by Northumbria Police Vehicle Recovery Scheme (NPVRS) on behalf of Gateshead Council. 

Abandoned Vehicles (Including Caravans And Trailers)

The following information is required for the investigation/removal process to take place:

  • Make, model and registration mark of vehicle
  • Location of vehicle
  • How long has it been in the current location?
  • Is the vehicle taxed?
  • Is the vehicle damaged?
  • Is the vehicle on private/public land?
  • Is the vehicle causing an obstruction?

Owners Request To Remove Vehicle

The information required for the vehicle to be removed is as above, but the owner must provide proof of ownership before the vehicle is removed.
