Request for the Supension of Parking Places

Notes:

  1. The charge is payable on application. Payment may be made by Credit / Debit card (please see authorisation form), Cheques or Postal Orders. All Cheques / Postal Orders should be made payable to "Gateshead Council". No cash should be enclosed with the application form.
  2. The application must be submitted at least 14 days before the suspension start date.
  3. We will suspend the area requested, or an equivalent nearby area and will notify our enforcement service.
  4. Advance Warning Notices will be erected before the start of the suspension however we cannot guarantee that the area will be kept clear. Should unauthorised vehicles be parked in the suspended bays you may contact the Parking Services on (0191) 4333155 to request enforcement, which will be responded to subject to available resources.
  5. If the suspension needs to be extended the request and payment of the extension must be received at least 4 working days prior to the initial completion date. Date changes may only be granted for postponing suspensions (dates cannot be brought forward), providing 4 working days notice has been given. Failure to give sufficient notice will require a new application form to be submitted for which standard charges (see condition 1 & 2) will be applied. A cancellation (before suspension starts) may be made at any time (see condition 6).
  6. All cancellations / early terminations or date changes of suspensions must be made in writing or by e-mail to parkingandregulation@gateshead.gov.uk. For terminations, a refund may be arranged for remaining days providing the bays have been put back to service. A cancelled suspension may only be fully refunded if 7 working days notice has been given.
  7. On-street equipment provided by Gateshead Parking Services may not be moved, changed or removed. Advance Warning Notices, cones and yellow hoods remain the property of Gateshead Council and will be removed by Parking Services the morning after the completion date.
  8. Vehicles may not wait in a suspended bay and may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and subsequently removed/relocated. However, vehicles that are listed in the application form can load and unload from the suspended bay(s) for as long as is necessary, or may be used for such purposes as is agreed. Details of any vehicles must be provided and agreed by Parking Services.
  9. Parking suspensions are enforced 24 hours (At Any Time) and no vehicles other than those agreed by Parking Services (see condition 9) may remain in the bay until such time the bay is put back to service by Parking Services.
