Parking Strategy

Gateshead have produced a Parking Strategy to provide a framework for the operation of a Civil Parking Enforcement (CPE) regime, and to define the role of parking in the overall transport and regeneration strategies of the Council. This Strategy has been developed in partnership with key stakeholders in the area to ensure that our policy contributes to the success of the regeneration of Gateshead Town Centre and the Gateshead Quays, as well as the continued vitality and viability of its outlying district centres.

The provision and pricing of car parking has a major influence on the demand for travel. Therefore, the Strategy has been developed in conjunction with the Local Transport Plan for Tyne and Wear and the draft Network Management Plan for Gateshead.
