Gateshead Council and Legal Services Commission are working in joint partnership to pilot a Community Legal Advice Centre in central Gateshead which will improve people’s access to legal advice. The aim of the Centre is to:
-
Provide FREE face-to-face legal advice – from basic to specialist representation - to help people solve legal problems.
-
Provide education on legal rights so that people can help themselves more.
The Centre will be paid for by Gateshead Council and the Legal Services Commission (who pay now for Legal Aid) and will open Winter 2006/7.
