The Gateshead Older People's Assembly

The Gateshead Older People's Assembly is a new independent group that represents all older people in Gateshead, and gives older people a strong independent voice and a place at the table when future policy and planning for older peoples’ services are discussed. This new assembly was inspired by the Youth Assembly, which aims to give the young people of the borough more of a say in things that affect them.

Gateshead Older Peoples Assembly also has a role in monitoring the recent Older Peoples Strategy for Gateshead that came out of a major consultation exercise with older people.
