Unfortunately we do not have the staff to undertake extensive searches of our indexes. If you are able to provide accurate details for the event you are interested in (such as the name and the year of birth, death or marriage) we will carry out a search of the registers for that year and a year either side.
You can request this type of search by phone, email or letter.
General Search
If a wider search is required it will be necessary for you, or someone acting on your behalf, to make an appointment for a general search of the indexes. Unfortunately it is not possible to search the actual registers because of legal restrictions.
There is a fee for a general search and this entitles the person making the search to search the indexes, in person, for a maximum of six successive hours.
A copy certificate| can be purchased for any entry identified during either type of search.
