Neighbourhood Management Area Profiles
In order to address issues at a local level more effectively, five Neighbourhood Management Areas ( NMAs ) have been identified across the borough based on groupings of communities.
Neighbourhood management is central to strengthening communities. It is part of a long-term plan in Gateshead to ensure local services are co-ordinated around the needs of individual neighbourhoods and are accountable to local people.
An Area Profile has been developed for each of the five areas, describing the characteristics of the area using statistical evidence from a range of sources. The profiles were published in April 2008. Future updates to the data in the profiles will be made available through GENIE Maps Online. Neighbourhood Profiles
To complement the Area Profiles above, a Neighbourhood Profile has been developed for each of 37 smaller areas within the five Neighbourhood Management Areas. These Neighbourhood Profiles assist in focussing on service needs at a local level and will form the evidence base for Neighbourhood Plans. The Profiles include detailed maps of relevant service providers and provision.
All profiles have been saved as PDF files. Some are quite large (10mb +) and may take some time to download.
