Equality for Deaf and Disabled People

Promoting equality for deaf and disabled people is important to Gateshead Council.

The information in this section of the Council's web site details what work is being done locally to achieve equality.

This includes the Disability and Deaf Equality Scheme developed by the Council, and the new Partnership that has been set-up to help monitor how the Scheme's action plan is put into practice.

There is also information about local and national services, and guidance on disability and deaf equality issues will be added towards the end of 2007.
